Zhao Mingjie, male, Han nationality, born in Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province in November 1967, is a Doctor of Engineering, a professor, and a doctoral supervisor. He started to work in July 1992. He is a vice president of the university and a member of the Party Standing Committee.
He studied in Applied Geophysics of Chengdu College of Geology, obtained his bachelor of engineering from September 1985 to June 1989; studied in Applied Geophysics of Chengdu College of Geology, receiving his master degree of engineering from September 1989 to June 1992; worked in Nanjiang Hydrology Team, Sichuan Bureau of Geology & Mineral Resources from July 1992 to August 1994; studied in Civil Engineering, Chongqing Jianzhu University from September 1994 to June 1998, receiving his PhD in engineering; and worked in Chongqing Jiaotong University since July 1998. He served as the assistant to the dean of Hehai College, Chongqing Jiaotong University from December 2007 to July 2009; the deputy dean of Hehai College, Chongqing Jiaotong University from July 2009 to October 2009; the deputy director of Academic Affairs, Chongqing Jiaotong University from October 2009 to April 2011; the deputy director of Academic Affairs, Chongqing Jiaotong University (presiding work) from April 2011 to July 2012; the director of Academic Affairs, Chongqing Jiaotong University from July 2012 to January 2016; a vice president and a member of the Party Standing Committee of Chongqing Jiaotong University in February 2016, assisting the Party Secretary and the president in charge of specialized personnel training and education management work, in charge of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Military Office, Student Affairs Office, Youth League Committee, Education Teaching Evaluation and Research Center, Higher Education Research Institute, Student Community Management Committees, and University Students’ Union, and coordinating the College of Materials Science and Engineering, the College of Mathematics and Statistics and the College of Foreign Languages.
He is mainly engaged in teaching and research work in fields of rock-soil dynamics and monitoring measurement technology, damage identification and imaging techniques, health diagnosis and safety evaluation of hydraulic structure, study on stability and control technology of tunnel surrounding rock under special geological conditions, rock engineering blasting vibration effect and inversion technology, etc. He has presided or directed over 20 national, ministerial, provincial and other scientific research projects, received 15 provincial, ministerial and national science and technology progress awards (the first, second and third prizes), 1 second prize of national teaching achievements, 3 provincial and ministerial level teaching achievement awards, with over 100 academic papers published, 5 monographs published, 3 teaching materials as chief editor and 1 standard specification participated in. He has been awarded as the special allowance expert of the state council, the national excellent teacher, the top talent in science and technology of the Department of Transportation, Chongqing youth science and technology award, outstanding award of Chongqing youth science and technology innovation award, and Chongqing academic leader (hydraulic structure engineering). He is a member of International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM), the deputy director of Rock Dynamics Special Committee of China Rock Mechanics and Engineering Society, the executive member of Chongqing Rock Mechanics and Engineering Society, and one of “Bayu Scholar” distinguished professors to the universities and colleges in Chongqing.
