Chongqing Jiaotong University Adds Three New Undergraduate Majors

Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the Notice of the Ministry of Education on the Publication of the Record and Approval Results of Undergraduate Programs of Regular Higher Education Institutions for the Year 2023 (Jiaogao Han [2024] No. 6), announcing the record and approval results of undergraduate programs for the year 2023. Chongqing Jiaotong University successfully obtained approval for the establishment of three undergraduate programs in Intelligent Construction, Smart Water Conservancy, and Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, and approval to add 9 second bachelor’s degree programs. The degree category for the Material Physics program has been changed from Science to Engineering. As of now, the total number of undergraduate programs at our school has reached 69 (including those not enrolling and currently enrolling), covering 7 disciplines including Engineering, Management, Science, Economics, Literature, Arts, and Law, with 29 major categories and 10 second bachelor’s degree programs.


The application for new majors this time is an important measure taken by Chongqing Jiaotong University to continuously optimize the layout of majors around social needs and new trends in industrial development. The school actively organizes various colleges to rely on their advantages in disciplines, adapt to the new trends in industry and economic development, adhere to demand-oriented, standard-oriented, and characteristic-oriented approaches, and orderly carry out the application work.

Next, Chongqing Jiaotong University will focus on the related industrial clusters of “33618” modern manufacturing, modern services, modern agriculture, etc., to further strengthen the construction of new majors, adjust and optimize the structure of talent training; based on the national standards for the quality of undergraduate majors, continuously enhance the professional connotation, highlight the characteristics of majors, strengthen professional accreditation, effectively guarantee the quality of talent training, and provide talent support for the development of new productive forces.
